Training vs. Testing: What’s Allowed
During the CGC Course (Training Weeks 1–6):
✅ Rewards Allowed – Use high-value treats to reinforce correct behavior
✅ Training Tools Permitted – Balanced aids like martingales, slip leads, or head halters may be used during training ONLY
✅ Confidence Conditioning – We’ll help you fade tools so your dog’s ready for test day
During the Official CGC Test (Week 7):
🚫 No Treats, Toys, or Training Aids – The test measures reliability, not reward dependency
🚫 No Corrective Collars – Only flat collars, martingale, or harness
🚫 No Luring – Only hand signals or verbal cues may be used
We’ll prepare you and your dog step-by-step so you’re confident and ready when the rewards fade.
